ACNE VULGARIS DURING ADOLESCENCE THAT AFFECT TEENAGERS

ABSTRACT

Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition, most commonly during adolescence, affecting more than 89% of teenagers, and frequently continues into adulthood. It is due to changes in pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland, via androgen stimulation. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles. Different types of acnes in which it includes Cystic acne (faces), Subsiding tropical acne (trunk), Extensive acne (chest & shoulders) etc. Acne develops as a result of blockages in folliclesHyperkeratinization and formation of a plug of keratin and sebum (a microcomedo) is the earliest change. Acne Vulgaris symptoms includes blackheads, pimple and whiteheads which occurs on chest, neck, shoulders, back, face. By using global acne grading system, photographic standards physician can easily diagnose the severity of acne vulgais. Larger cysts may also occur in some patient. Treatment in which we have focuse to control shedding into the pore to prevent blockage, killing  Propionibacterium acnes, anti-inflammatory effects and hormonal manipulation. Antibiotics (erythromycinclindamycin , tetracyclinechlorhexidine gluconate minocycline, trimethoprim), hormones (hormonal contraception , anti-androgen, Cyproterone, oestrogen, progestin), Phototherapy (particular intense violet light i.e;405-420 nm) generate free radicals reduced acne in 64% patients, mixture of the violet light and red visible light (660 nm) resulting in a 76% reduction of  lesions after three months of daily treatment. Applying salicylic acid (Propa pH or Stridex), azelaic acid, oral retinoids (Accutane), Chemabrasion, Collagen injections. Some Surgical lancing, laser treatment, alternatives herbal like; Neem, Haldi, Aloe vera, Papaya, tea tree oil, detoxification, local heating are also effective. All these way of treatment, precaution for medication and diets help the adolescence.
